10-mw Larsi HPP commissioned

Georgian Minister of Energy Mr. Kakhi Kaladze has opened a Larsi HPP in Kazbegi Town. The new power plant opening ceremony brought together Minister of Finance Mr. Nodar Khaduri and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mr. Davit Narmania as well as the representatives of Peri Ltd, a company having developed the power plant. The Larsi HPP has an installed capacity of 19 mw and the annual energy generation of 100 mln kwh. The new hydropower plant is a diversion plant. The Company started the construction of the Larsi HPP on the Tergi River in Kazbegi Town in 2011. The investment made in the construction project amounted to $20 million.
The Larsi HPP construction project employed 150 people, most of them being the local residents. The commissioning of the HPP will create 40 permanent jobs. To operate the HPP, the Company has built a 110-kw substation to connect the HPP to the central power grid. 
 The electricity generated by the Larsi HPP will be supplied to the entire power grid.
